The IPT Practitioner Training


Integral Pelvic Therapy Education is accredited by KTNO (18 EC), BATC, and KNOV accredited our course with 16 study points in cluster A plus 60 points in cluster D.



The training is given by: Daphne van der Putten: midwife, bodyworker, founder of Integral Pelvic Therapy and Mariëtte Frits: teacher, Body Stress Release Practitioner, co-founder of Integral Pelvic Therapy, bodyworker and breast tissue therapist.

The training is particularly suitable for bodyworkers, doctors, obstetricians and other birth assistants.


What exactly does the program involve?

This is a post-graduate training that lasts for 9 months. It is a mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on training. You will finish the training with a theoretical, practical and oral exam. You also write a thesis that you present at the end of the training.

After the training, you are a certified IPT Practitioner. In the future, you can join the professional association: Integral Pelvic Therapy Association (IPTA). Via affliation with IPTA, you can register with a quality and dispute register recommended by us. This means you can carry out this work in a legal and responsible way.


Integral Pelvic Therapy Education is accredited by the BATC, the KTNO with 18 EC (European Credits) and by the KNOV with 16 study points in cluster A plus 60 points in cluster D.


Training Content:

  • Anatomy and physiology of the central nervous system
  • Anatomy and physiology of the pelvis
  • External and internal treatment techniques of the pelvis
  • Vaginal mapping
  • Energetic work in a body
  • Work with presence in a body
  • General gynecological abnormalities and diseases. The IPT practitioner can recognize these and refer them to the specialist if necessary.
  • Correctly perform a pelvic floor assessment and give appropriate exercises if necessary
  • Recognize sexual dysfunctions and, if appropriate, treat them with IPT®
  • Being able to recognize and treat traumatic patterns such as sexual abuse and/or sexual violence
  • Trauma work on a therapeutic basis
  • Recognizing / and anticipating dissociation patterns
  • To have knowledge of and be able to apply consent
  • Professionally administering a general anamnesis
  • Use IPT® in preparation for delivery or processing after a traumatic delivery 
  • To be able to apply IPT protocollair
  • Having knowledge of contraindications
  • Have knowledge of applying a correct status
  • Able to reflect professionally on your own actions
  • To have knowledge and be able to recognize different character structures
  • Can apply and use breathing/breathing techniques
  • Imaginary rescripting
  • Making contact with a sense of inner wisdom, trusting intuition and being able to get to know your feminine self
  • Being able to apply and use meditations/visualizations


During the period of the training, you will go through a process of your own, where you learn to examine your own pelvis and you’ll be practicing on fellow participants. You will gain insight into your own limitations, blockades, and triggers. This requires an extremely flexible attitude and willingness to look at your own patterns. You will be guided by Mariëtte and Daphne, assisted by a team of already graduated Integral Pelvic Therapy practitioners.

  • Basic medical and psycho-social knowledge; if you do not have this, willingness to do so within 2 years of completing the training
  • Affinity with women’s work
  • Being a woman yourself
  • HBO working and thinking level
  • Received an IPT® treatment from one of the current IPT® practitioners. We ask the practitioner to tell us something about you as a person. This is not about the treatment itself or about your process. If you live abroad and this is difficult, please let us know.
  • An intake interview with Daphne and/or Mariëtte.
  • We must feel that this work suits you as a person. Everyone can learn a technique, but not everyone is capable of performing this delicate but beautiful work.






Daphne van der Putten 


Daphne has worked for years as a medical midwife in an academic center. From that work she developed, after much research, Integral Pelvic Therapy®, as response to many medical complications.

She now works fully as a bodyworker and partly as a midwife in her practice; “Birth and Bodywork”.

Mariëtte Frits


Mariëtte has a background as a teacher and is also a very experienced bodyworker as a Body Stress Release Practitioner, a form of bodywork which is now very common and  reimbursed by health insurance. Mariëtte is also a Women’s Coach and a Breast Tissue Therapist.

Every day starts at 10 AM and we continue until approximately 9.30 / 10 PM.
The last day of each Training Module we aim to finish at 6 PM.

Note: It is not possible to stay overnight at the venue.


Organic and freshly prepared meals are included. On consecutive days we provide lunch and dinner. On non- consecutive days we will only provide lunch.


Unfortunately it is not possible to stay at the venue. In the area there are many B&B’s.


Main language:
Predominantly English because foreign students also will participate.


Course Material:
A syllabus containing all information you need will be provided.


Practice clients:
During the training, you will practice on each other and on practice clients. For the practice treatments, you may ask for a limited amount of € 100 per client at a certain moment in the study program. You will receive intervision and supervision during these training sessions.


Study Load:
The training has a total study load of 504 hours, representing 18EC (European credits), spread out over a 9 month period of time:

272 hours in training days
18 hours exams
194 hours home study (including practice sessions with clients)
20 hours intervision

Everyone has their own study pace. On average you will need to include appr. 5-6 hours of home study each week into your schedule, on top of your practice sessions with clients.


The exam consists of an oral, written and a practical exam. The components are assessed by an examination committee consisting of the trainers and their assistants, who are also IPT Practitioners. After passing the exams, you may call yourself an Integral Pelvic Therapy- practitioner and join the Integral Pelvic Therapy Association (IPTA).

If it would not be possible to succeed immediately, there is the possibility to resit the exam. This will take place within one month of the examinations.


The investment for this accredited post-graduate course is € 5200,-  in case this investment is received in one payment before the start of the course. If you choose to pay in installments, the investment is € 5400,-, with an initial payment of € 1400,- before the start of the course, and 5 monthly installments of € 800 after that.

Please bear in mind that, depending on your income, 30 – 50 % can be deducted by the “Belastingdienst”:

With 30% you can get € 1620,- euro back, which brings your investment down to  € 3780,-.
With 50% you can get € 2700,- euro back, which brings your investment down to € 2700,-.

In addition, you earn back a portion of your investment during the course.

Our training is excluded from VAT because Integral Pelvic Therapy education is registered with the Centraal Register Korte Beroepsopleidingen (CRKBO).

Everything you need to perform a treatment: think of gloves, organic coconut oil or almond oil.
An incredible experience and wonderful way to develop yourself, but especially to practice a special profession. After this training you can immediately start your own practice.


Cancellation policy
In case of cancellation up to 3 months before the start of the training, we will refund 100%, but charge €250,- for administration costs.
In case of cancellation up to 2 months before the training, we will refund 50% of the total training fee.
In case of cancellation within 2 months before the start of the training, the entire amount will be charged.

Via the KTNO a procedure of complaints can be followed. Therefore we meet the legal requirement to provide for a complaint procedure, however we strive to resolve any disagreement through conversations and personal contact first.
